Hispaniola Boa

(AKA Dominican Red Mountain Boa)

Scientific name: Chilabothrus striatus striatus

Our

Boas

  • Acquired from a collection downsizing in June 2024

    Original source: Unknown

    Est. D.O.B. 2019??

Sasha was a part of a collection that was being downsized. A friend and fellow breeder knew I worked with the species and was able to get her to me. She was not from the original breeder so her real birth date is unknown.

She seems to have a fairly easy-going temperament so far. She has developed a beautiful red-orange coloration that is continuously getting brighter. I really like how dark her markings are and the black zippering on her belly.

  • Purchased from Snakes Unlimited in October 2022

Likely from Sandro Dipinto / Crutchfield line

    D.O.B. fall 2020 (est.)

Negan was my first DRMB and my motivation for wanting to get more of the species. He has a very curious personality but can be a bit of a troublemaker. I did not get him from the original breeder so actual birth date is unknown but I estimated him to be about 2 when I got him.

Negan is developing his adult coloration. He is a beautiful orange with moderately dark patterning. He should continue getting brighter for a couple more years.

  • Purchased from Mount Pleasant Herps in April 2024

    Original source: Mount Pleasant Herps

    D.O.B. 10/3/2022

Maggie is out of Mount Pleasant’s high red pair. Her parents (D'Artagnon & Athena) were originally from Rich Rang.

Maggie has always had exceptional color for her age. She is a nice burnt orange but her pattern is almost completely blushed out. She should be a crazy bright adult.

  • Purchased from Davenport Arboreals in April 2025.

    D.O.B. 9/7/2024

Judith was produced from Dustin Larsen’s visual calico pair but the litter was raised and sold by Leah at Davenport Arboreals.

Heritability of calico is still fairly unknown and since it does not begin expressing until the animal is over 3 years old, we will not know if Judith is calico for some time. With both her parents being visual, if it is a genetic trait then she provides a strong chance of being on. She is just settling in so I will update on her in the future.

  • Purchased from Tom Crutchfield in April 2023

    Original source: Crutchfield Farms

    D.O.B. Fall 2022 (est.)

Lucille is out of Tom’s calico line but we won’t know if she is going to exhibit calico until she is 3+ years old.

She has an active personality and seems to enjoy coming out of her enclosure for interaction. She stubbornly stuck to anoles for her first couple months with me but has been slamming rodents ever since.

She has very nice dynamic coloration for her age and I love her bold pattern. Also, her rostral scale has become colorless which is interesting.

  • Purchased from Randy Pegues at Stoic Arboreals in Feb. 2025

    D.O.B. 08/29/2024

Rosita was produced by Randy. Sire (Deadpool) was a red 2015 male produced by Doug Smith. Dam (Pumpkin) was a 2016 orange pastel produced by Todd Appel.

She is just settling in so I will update on her in the future.

  • Purchased from Tom Crutchfield in April 2023

    Original source: Crutchfield Farms

    D.O.B. Fall 2022 (est.)

Glen is out of Tom’s calico line but we won’t know if he is going to exhibit calico until he is 3+ years old. Glen is brother to Lucille.

I really enjoy this guy’s easy-going personality. He took to eating mice upon arrival which was greatly appreciated.

Glen is going through some wild color changes and is currently glowing greenish-grey. His chin and belly are still orange so I am curious about how he will look as an adult.

  • Purchased from Golden Coast Exotics in February 2025.

    D.O.B. early September, 2024

Ezekiel was produced by Chad’s Ruby & Ares. It is likely that he will be high red.

He is just settling in so I will update on her in the future.

  • in early March 2025, we witnessed locks between Negan and Sasha. If the breeding was successful, a litter would be expected sometime this fall. After the litter is born, we will add a link here for you to join the waitlist for babies. I would expect nice oranges and moderate reds from this pairing.
